How to Hack CZ Arms

I know there is already a tutorial about how to hack CZ arms but I wanted to post a self made, too.

This is, in my opinion, a very easy to understand tutorial and I made for every step a screenshot.

This pack includes:
- CS 1.6 default Ak-47 (used in the tutorial for example)
- needed tools (like half life model viewer, decompiler and compiler)
- needed files (CZ model and texture)
- a readme ;)

Why did you made your own tutorial?
Reason 1: I practiced out myself the existing tutorial and sometimes I got really confused or didn't understood what I should do. Mostly because of missing screens.
Reason 2: The other reason is one of the FPSBanana members asked me if I could teach him. So I decided encouraged by reason 1 to write a new, better to understand tutorial.

So why don't you let the user decide which tutorial he wants to chose?

Having "illegal bone replacement" error?
This happens if the weapon you're using hasn't the bone structure which is used in the default 1.6 or condition zero models. Some of the older models may still have the bone structure of cs 1.5 or older. Source ports have CS:S bone structure and so on...

So it isn't possible to hack the arms on those bone structures with my tutorial!

    I tried to hack cz arms and put them in m4a1 1.6 default model when I try to compile, I need handsfinal.bmp and hands.smd what's the problem? when I search for both files, I can't find hands.smd in "needed files" folder, it is missing.. please help me :(

    Sorry for the late response. Due to my studies I have actually very little time at the moment and can't give detailed support for the tutorial.

    For all those having troubles during compiling, especially with the "Illegal Parent Bone" error: This tutorial does not work with every custom model out there (not even with every default cs 1.6 model), because quite a lot have a different bone structure or other names for the bones. It's therefore not possible to hack the condition zero arms with this method. To be honest it's getting really tricky then and I don't know a better way which works with every model.

    fak47template.smd doesn't have viewfinger.bmp, viewglove.bmp and viewskin.bmp.. so i can't delete them. when i export and try to compile (yes i decompiled vak47.mdl from your example folder) i get these errors:

    What about "Illegal Parent Bone" ? And ooohhh, when I import fak47template, the hand textures are missing! Can you explain me WTF is happening?
