how can i write on a cs 1.6 knife model

hello, i have already downloaded jed's half-life model viewer and i just want to write on a knife model my nickname. Can you tell me how can i do it? I have tried painting, but it proved poor.. Thanks in avance

    First of all , you need photoshop or gimp . Don't use MS Paint
